If you think racing around the 2km short circuit with 10 well worn corners and lines analysed by MX5ers for years is fun then consider the little known Wakefield Park Long Circuit:-

  • The Long Circuit is on about 200km of sealed roads with challenging surfaces and 100’s of corners, some short, some tight, some sweeping and some blind to give you a full road driving experience of enjoying what aMx-5 was designed to do.
  • A Short Circuit run of 1 minute 20 seconds is considered a good time but at 120 minutes the Long Circuit is a great time were the only time you have to worry about is coffee time.
  • You can’t buy a special licence to drive the Long Circuit or pay an entry fee but you get more bang for your bucks FOC.
  • A helmet, fire extinguisher or non-flammable clothing is not mandatory and you can drive with the top down rain or shine.
  • The Long Circuit needs only one lap to cover compared to 100 laps of the Short Circuit that will leave you walking in circles for hours after finish.
  • The are some negatives, you can’t hit a wombat or cow or run into a radar trap or ute with dog, spotlights, stickers and a musical horn on the Short Circuit but you don’t have any down time running the Long Circuit.
  • The Short Circuit is more popular and faster than the Long Circuit where the fun lasts longer.
  • Both circuits are MX-5 friendly and depending on your thing are great fun to drive.
  • Think Albion Park or Le Mans circuits on a 100km limit and make a call.

You return to Sydney or Canberra from Nerriga on the Princes or Hume Highways or back roads of your choice.
