Bob's Brunch & Putty Road Run

Up early to check the weather, yippee no rain. Bit cold but the likely arrival of sunshine later in the day, its all good.  Perfect for a run down the Putty road to the Grey Gum Café.

We met at our usual starting point at the BP Servo Beresfield. Formalities over we start to move off for brunch at The Lovedale Café and Store. Thirteen MX-5s in convoy, along with a car with a story behind it we take the shortest route so as to arrive at 10 am. Arriving at the café it was welcoming to see that tables were set up to take advantage of the morning sun on the veranda of the Café.

So after having a great brunch it was time to leave for the Putty Road. But not before raffling off a fabulous hamper of Wine and "goodies" donated by Paul and Jane from the Café. Some had decided brunch was enough and left for the Knights footy match, with others heading to the vineyards to try some wine.

The remaining group formed up to head towards the start of the Putty Road where we formed smaller groups to tackle the twisty bits. The traffic was minimal which allowed a good run to the Grey Gum Café. Arriving at the cafe only minutes before Jean Cook who had driven up to meet us from Sydney. After time spent chatting about all things MX-5 it was time to head our way home on the Putty.

A big thank you to Paul and Jane from The Lovedale Café and Store. If you’re ever in the Hunter drop in for coffee or a meal. They are very MX-5 friendly.
