Bruce's Birthday Bash 23rd March 2014

31 March 2014 / Bruce Bettinson

A beautiful morning saw 18 cars, 26 Members and we also welcomed overseas visitor Patricia Stewart of the MX5 Owners Club of England (Cheshire & North Wales area) gathered for a day’s drive.

We were off, out into the country to enjoy the rural theme and the occasional country smells with not everyone reading or following trips notes.

Heading for our morning tea destination, we went the long way round via historical Morpeth, Seaham onto the Bucketts Way via Stroud onto Dungog.

Unfortunately some of the roads could have been in better condition, however we carried on regardless.

After our break for morning tea at Dungog we headed along Billabunga Rd back towards Branxton which provided some beautiful views of the country side after some much needed rain.

Driving through the vineyards heading for a shady park just outside Kurri Kurri at Varty Park for a picnic lunch.

To encourage some exercise after sitting down all morning, we had a friendly knock out competition of quarts. Teams of two fighting to make the final eventually won after some not to be named person...

Thier prize was a bottle RED to enjoy at their leisure.

After our normal goodbyes some of our chapter headed off to check out the new freeway back to Newcastle.

Hope a good day was had by all.
