Friday 18th October

Proceed along the Oxley Highway, stopping at Gingers Creek for morning tea. Then we continue along the Oxley Highway, through Walcha, and stop for lunch at the Walcha Road Hotel. Then we are off to Armidale to meet Kevin.

Friday 18th October-Armidale

Accommodation: The Club Motel 105-7 Dumaresq Street, Armidale: Book direct, PH 6772 8777, Quote the MX5 Run and get the special price of $130  for Queen room.(10 rooms are being held)

Dinner:  The White Bull Hotel, easy walk from the motel: we will have a reserved table but you will select and pay individually.

If there is any interest we could have a pre dinner drink at the Welders Dog bar (local beers, local wines and local spirits available), across the road from the White Bull.

Saturday 19th October

Breakfast: This is up to you: a map and description of available places, all within walking distance, will be supplied on arrival in Armidale.

9.30 am:  Meet at the Motel (packed and fuelled up for the day) for the short run to North Armidale to view Lyndon Hardmans car collection. We may have access to Des Hardmans collection next door TBC….in total around 70 very old/very rare cars. Entry is by a donation of $5 per couple (proceeds to the new Motor Museum being constructed in Armidale).

Lunch: at Guyra or Glencoe yet to be determined (an off highway, sealed road detour is planned after Guyra).

After Lunch we visit a very unusual museum at Glencoe, auto related, entry $5 per person.

Then a short drive into Glen Innes for the night.

Accommodation: New England Motor Lodge (the MX5 NAT MEET stay here every 2nd year and love it) 160 Church Street, Glen Innes: book direct - Ph. 67322922

Mention the MX5 run and get the discounted price of $135 per queen room (10 rooms are being held).

Dinner: The Great Central Hotel just a few paces from the Motel. Great food, you choose, you pay and we will have a room to ourselves…depending on our numbers.

 

Sunday 20th October:

Breakfast: available at the motel dining room.

Visit the Standing Stones and morning coffee at Crofters Cottage

Then it’s down the mountain to Grafton and the back road to Coffs Harbour where the run will finish…..lunch yet to be arranged en route.
