Why Join?

The purpose of the Club is to provide benefits to its members through the promotion of the social, sporting, technical, and educational aspects of the Mazda MX-5. The things we value most are fun and friendship.

One of the main benefits of membership is the sharing of knowledge between members. You can find out a lot about your car just by attending the Club's events. We have a lot of members who are familiar with all aspects of the Mazda MX-5, classic or new, and they can help you make the most of your car. So if you're looking to buy an MX-5 and are unsure about which model or modification might suit you best, why not come along to one of our events and find out from those who know best.

Our drive days, weekends away, and social events are the bread & butter of what we do, and they are conducted for the benefit of our members. We welcome visitors to join us on any drive day or social event so that you may get a feel for what we do. Visitors may even return for a second or third event. However, if a visitor wishes to continue attending our events beyond that point, we expect them to join the Club and participate as a member.

The Club is affiliated with Motorsport Australia (MA) and the Council of ACT Motor Clubs. All of our social runs are conducted with an MA social permit which provides public liability insurance for the organisers and run leaders.

The annual President's Picnic and Concours d'Elegance has become a fully subsidised event with lunch provided for all members who attend. The Club also subsidises the Christmas Party and/or Convenor's BBQ for each of the Chapters.

The Mazda MX-5 Club is one of the best ways you can start in motorsport and we offer something for everyone. We organise our own series of Club track days at Wakefield Park, Pheasant Wood and Sydney Motorsport Park, which are widely recognised as being extremely well organised. We occasionally conduct hillclimbs at Ringwood Park. Entry into the world of motorsport is made easy by a series of motorkhanas on the skidpan at Sydney Motorsport Park, and Driver Training Days at Pheasant Wood. The Club has the enviable record of being the most successful car club in the history of the NSW Supersprint Championship. And finally, the MX-5 CUP provides an annual competition featuring low-cost, competitive, good-spirited door-to-door MX-5 racing.

Membership to the Mazda MX-5 Club of NSW entitles you to receive four editions of our Club Torque magazine each year. We are very proud of our full colour glossy magazine, which reports on all aspects of Club activity, technical articles, and special features on our members and their cars. We're confident that you will be amazed by the quality of the magazine and will happily display it on your coffee table.

Above all else, membership is about sharing your enthusiasm for the Mazda MX-5 with other aficionados of the marque. It's well worth joining in – we’re good company and when we get together, we have fun!

New Member Packs

New members can also expect to receive a personalised name badge. The badges are produced in economic quantities and may take a few months for new members to receive.
