End of Daylight-Saving Run
Summer for 2024 is coming to an end. We’ll soon be looking for venues with open fires to warm us up on our arrival. Before that starts to happen comeand join us on a run to enjoy the last of Daylight Saving for this year at a venue that doesn’t have an open fire but does have great food and the best view you could wish for.
Our afternoon will start at ‘Ratha’s Place’. This is a great little café in Oak Flats that operates to provide training and employment opportunities for people with intellectual and development disabilities. It is well run and supervised and on our last visit did not disappoint. It will be different for this visit because on a Saturday they close at 2.00 pm. then re-open at 4.00 pm.
After 4.00 pm. on a Saturday ‘Ratha’s Place’ becomes a bar. The usual coffee and cakes will be available but if some would like a cocktail, glass of wine or a light beer that will also be available. There are toilet facilities on site and there is plenty of street parking available out the front.
Then join us for a drive down to the ‘Fisherman’s Club’, Gerroa on some roads often-travelled and others not so often travelled.
You won’t be disappointed with the route with some quicker sections and some winding sections. The Run Grade is ‘Cruiser’ is about sixty kilometers long taking approximately one hour and fifteen minutes to complete. We will run through some pretty country side but there are no dirt roads on this route. We have taken a run on the route before and got lots of positive feedback.
Our destination at the ‘Fisherman’s Club’ overlooks Seven Mile Beach at Gerroa a venue known to many of you. The view is fabulous the staff are helpful and the menu should cater for everyone’s tastes. Parking is plentiful.
