Hill End Sofala and Mudgee
The Hill End HillBilly Run is back!
Friday will see us on a drive to Bathurst for lunch after meeting up at Batemans Bay or Goulburn. Then to Hill End to our lodgings at the The Lodge Motel (cabins, $115 per night including a light breakfast and entertainment from the resident poultry and other wildlife!). http://www.hillendlodge.com.au ( 6337 8200)
Saturday involves checking out Hill End followed by a short drive to Sofala for lunch.
Dinner for Friday and Saturday Evening will be either at the Hill End hotel or at the Lodge.
Sunday; we do Mudgee, or more precisely, a pizza/wine/music afternoon at Burnbrae Wines (pizza $27, antipasto plate $40). Accommodation will then be at the Horatio Motel in Mudgee, $160 per king studio room. https://www.thehoratio.co.au (6372 7727)
Monday gets us on the road home, down the Castlereagh Highway to Ilford and then Bathurst. An alternative route is via Lithgow toward Sydney and then down the coast.
This run is graded as Hard, approx 400k on Friday and 460k on Monday and includes secondary roads through mountainous countryside.
For logistical reasons/accommodation limits, the numbers will be limited to 10 cars. Please book your spot early as this is a popular run which will fill quickly owing to the limitation on numbers.
Please note: This is a joint run with our South Coast Colleagues. Registrations from the Canberra Chapter will meet South coasters in Goulburn.
