President's Picnic + Bits 'n' Bling + Concours
Are you over the cold Winter days? Looking forward to Spring and more time in your MX-5? Throw away the jumpers, throw back the roof and join your MX-5 friends for a day in the sun. This is going to be massive day with something for everyone ...
Yes MX-5ers, it's that time of year again for our showcase "all Club" event - the President's Picnic combined with Concours d'Elegance, Bits 'n' Bling, and Boot Sale will be held in the grounds of the beautiful and historic Ebenezer Church. Situated just 12km from Windsor and sitting in a rural setting on the banks of the Hawkesbury River, Ebenezer Church is the oldest existing Church in Australia.
Pack your picnic rug and join us for a FREE members barbeque lunch in the expansive Church grounds. Wander through the historic sandstone Church and grounds, exhibit your car in one of the categories or just sit back and enjoy the sunshine.
Due to the catering capacity (100 people), bookings for the free barbeque lunch have now closed. Members and their guests are invited to bring-your-own picnic lunch to enjoy in the grounds, and join in or view the Concours and Bits 'n' Bling competitions.
Runs to the event will be held on the day starting at various locations and will be posted separately on the event calendar.
President's Picnic Events
The Club will be conducting on the grounds of the Ebenezer Church in conjunction with the President’s Picnic numerous events for members and guests.
Members will have the opportunity to show their cars in three categories, vote for the People’s Choice Award and take advantage of selling excess MX-5 stuff as part of a Boot Sale. Special prizes will be issued for two special categories as posted below.
Vehicle entry into the church grounds and competitions is limited to members and lunch ticket holders only
Concours d’Elegance
The Club conducts a Concours d’Elegance event for MX-5s bi-annually and 2013 is a Concours year. There will be three classes & a trophy for NA, NB and NC models provided we have at least three registered entries for each model whether stock standard or modified. As we need to organise teams to view and judge Concours entries, those wishing to enter must pre-register and be willing to assist in judging cars in a class other than that in which they have entered on or before 2 September 2013. See Concours Information & Guide Sheet.
Show Off Your Bling
Bling Awards replace the traditional Show 'n' Shine competition. Judges select winners of a trophy and award certificates of merit based on how they perceive the exterior of those NAs, NBs and NCs on show taking into account originality and/or external modifications and trim.
Show Us Your Bits
For those members of the MX-5 community who are into upgrading or modifying the performance of their MX5s, our expert judges will chose an NA, NB and NC class trophy winner and may award certificates of merit in each class primarily taking into account the nature and quality of internal modifications with the exterior of these cars being a secondary consideration.
Best On Show
All the judges for Concours and the Bits 'n' Bling competitions will select their choice as a member's MX-5 with the biggest "wow" factor parked on the church grounds on the day allowing for originality and/or modifications as the Best on Show.
Peoples Choice Award
The attendees choice as the best MX-5, member or non-member, parked on the church grounds. The winner receives one year membership with the Club as a prize.
