Robertson Pie Run
Stephen Wakeling has a view that any trip to the Southern Pie-lands should include a stop at the Robertson Pie Shop. So he's filled the tank in the MX-5, donned his gloves and warmed the seats, ready for a mid-week run to sample 'the pies that made Robertson famous'.
The run will be fun, and the pies will be warm (or cold, if that's what you want). There will be big pies and little pies, savoury pies and sweet pies, meat pies and veggie pies, peach pies and apple pies ... and if you don't want pies, there will be pasties and sausage rolls, and lammingtons and tarts, and rocky roads and muffins and all sorts of nice!
Even if you are not into pies, come along for the ride!
We will head north up the highway and take the Sutton turnoff, and from there travel through Sutton, Gundaroo, Gunning, and Grabben Gullen, on the way to Crookwell for a 10.00 am coffee stop at the Chat-A-Way Café.
Around 10:45 we will head off to Goulburn, and on to Marulan along the highway, turning off shortly after Marulan on to the Highland Way about an hour later. This will take us through Tallong, Wingello, Penrose, Exeter, and Werai, where we will chuck a right on to the A48 Illawarra Highway. From there it is about 20 kms to Robertson, and another km to the Pie shop (ETA 12:45pm).
After lunch you can visit Robertson and return home your own way.
Please bring a camping chair just in case we need to sit outside.
