Snowy 2.0 Illawarra Chapter - (apologies to the PM) – weekend 9 March 2018

Tony & Jenny’s Snowy Mountain weekend from 2016 is back with a twist in 2018; bigger and better than ever.  It will take a 4-day long week (for those of us still at work) but we have a schedule and accommodation that will provide heaps of gear changes, fun and great value for money.

*** UPDATE 8 FEB 2018 ***

This event is now fully booked and closed. We have 34 people attending.

Schedule

Friday 9/3/18 08:30am depart Haywards Bay.

Batlow is the destination via Bundanoon and the Hume Highway.  Pit stop at BP Marulan, morning tea at the Merino Café, Gunning, lunch at the Star Hotel Gundagai and then on to Batlow via Tumut.

Staying at the Apple Inn Batlow $110 per night (Ph 6949 1342, ask for Nina and tell you are with the MX5 Illawarra Group). We have all 12 rooms fully booked. Others can still join the run however you will need to find other accommodation in Batlow or perhaps Tumut (35 minutes short of Batlow), and meet us the following morning.

Saturday 10/3/18

Leaving Batlow we head for Tumbarumba, then down through the mountains via Elliott Way, Link Rd past Selwyn Snowfields, Adaminaby and on to Jindabyne.

Book your 2 night's accommodation to stay at the famous Banjo Patterson Inn for the princely sum of $90 per night including breakfast.  Phone 6456 2372 to book and rooms are still available. Stops yet to be arranged.

Sunday 11/3/18

Copy of the mountain loop from 2016; only in the REVERSE direction.  This year we head west on the Alpine Way past Thredbo to Khancoban; through the mountains via Tooma Rd to Cabramurra then back to Jindabyne via Selwyn and Adaminaby.  Stops yet to be arranged.

Monday 12/3/18
