The inaugural TB Cup (Tiger Beetle Cup) aims to match teams of "baby supercars" (Mazda MX-5, Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ, Hyundai Veloster, Peugeot RCZ, Lotus Elise, Audi TT, Alfa Romeo 4C, etc). We have two teams of five MX-5 drivers selected.
Condition of entry
The condition of entry into the TB Cup is that you present your receipt from one of the designated motels/hotels (Marulan Motor Inn, Mercure Hotel Goulburn, and The Astor Hotel Motel Goulburn) proving that you are staying there on 4 May 2018 and 5 May 2018.
MX-5 vehicle requirements
- Road registered
- Street legal (noise is strictly limited at MDTC too)
- Any modifications permitted
- Less than 145kW at engine
- R-spec tyres permitted
The TB Cup involves up to 24 competitors in total who will then be divided into 6 groups of 4. Practice will be in the morning and each round of the TB Cup will begin at approximately 3:15 PM in the afternoon. Each group of 4 cars will compete against one another over, for example, 6 laps. The fastest competitor in each group (plus the next fastest competitor among the 3 groups competing for a position in their respective semi-final) over the 6 laps will then progress to the semi-finals. In the semi-finals the remaining 8 competitors will be divided into two groups of 4 who will then compete against one another over 6 laps. The fastest 2 competitors in each of the semi-finals will then progress to the final where the remaining 4 competitors will compete against one another over 6 laps.
