2019 Hunter Convenors Picnic

21 January 2019 / Story: Barry Luttrell Photos: Barry Luttrell

Our annual Convenors Picnic was held on Saturday 19th January 2019.  It was the first time this event has been held at the Hunter Region Botanic Gardens. The thirty four members and one guest who attended enjoyed the beautiful garden walks (including the orchid house) and hospitality of their staff. Even the weather was kind to us being much milder than the previous week.

Our cars were displayed on the eucalyptus lawns which generated considerable viewing interest from other garden visitors. A fun show and shine resulted in John and Gaye Morgan’s beautiful red NA being the well-deserved winner and recipient of a bottle of wine for their effort

Lunch was provided by Hunter Region Botanic Gardens volunteers and Chapter members. Everyone enjoyed the spread of goodies including sandwiches, wraps, salads, slices, cakes and fruit platter provided in the enclosed and screened garden room.
