On Wednesday 6 November five cars left Bulli beach for an “up hill down dale” run to Bundeena. We went up hill through Thirroul down past Austinmer Beach then up hill again parallel to the escarpment and then down again to Lawrence Hargrave Drive Wombarra.

We followed our fabulous coastline over the Seacliff Bridge then down to Stanwell Park Beach for morning coffee.
We were lucky enough to witness a hang glider safely and smoothly landing in front of u,s all caught on camera by Rob Wilkins.

From Stanwell Park we wound our way towards Helensburg then turned into the Hindu Temple. The outside was a good advertisement for Dulux paint (the tubs were visible just inside the door ) as half the outside had been recently painted a vivid white. There were also renovations and building work going on inside and out.

We removed our shoes and looked around at all the various displays, offerings and many statues and Francisco was lucky enough to be blessed and anointed with a red dot on her forehead.  Many of us followed suit hoping for an improvement in our fortune.

From the temple we drove towards Helensburg and down the Otford Road crossing over the Hackingriver bridge which brought us eventually to the Royal National Park. We wended our way along the Lady Wakehurst Drive enjoying the spectacular scenery that the National Park has to offer. Everything is so green at the moment it is a pleasure to behold. We were very lucky to enjoy beautiful weather. Good Mx-5 “top-down“ driving.

Bundeena didn’t disappoint. It’s always a pleasure to turn the corner and see the beautiful seascape of the bay.

We met up with Wes and Lena and Mark and Julie at the club for a leisurely lunch which was enjoyed by all with superb views across the bay.
