Fly Away to Nowra

13 August 2019 / Story Brian Clayton, Photos by Ann Zattera

The day dawned sunny with the promise of warmer weather. Met up with Graeme and Ann for coffee. We had a couple of drop outs due to illness but two cars set off from the Milton Heritage bakery. Little traffic and a pleasant drive with the top down saw us arrive early at the Naval Air Museum. Here we were joined by Bill and Jan from the Illawarra chapter and Bob and Linda.

After paying our entrance fee we were met by Stewart, our tour guide who led us into the museum and gave us a brief introductory chat. He allowed us to browse the exhibits at our leisure but was always on hand to answer any questions and to point out special features in the displays. An hour and a half passed very quickly.

With everyone starting to feel peckish we hopped in the cars for the drive to Huskisson where we enjoyed a lovely light lunch at Club Jervis. The food was very good and the view over Jervis Bay on such a day was also fabulous.

A great way to spend a spare Tuesday!
