Provisional 2016 Competition Calendar

The competition calendar for 2016 is coming together, and most dates are now locked in. Below I have written an overview of the events in the calendar, followed by the table of dates.
Track Days
Track day dates for 2016 have been exceedingly difficult to obtain from both Wakefield Park and Sydney Motorsport Park (SMP). Normally we have had 3 Sunday track days and a Monday track day at Wakefield Park plus 2 Sunday track days at SMP South Circuit, totaling 6 track days.
For 2016 we have only a single Sunday track day plus 2 Mondays at Wakefield Park, and only 1 Sunday at SMP South Circuit. This total only 4 track days, so I have had to look at new ideas.
In 2016 we will be running 2 track days at venues we haven't used before for track days.
The Marulan Driver Training Centre is a purpose built driver training facility near Marulan, about 20 mins drive north of Goulburn, and has been the venue for our Driver Training Days for the last 2 years. We will have a track day there in May. Given this track will not support as many drivers as we normally have at Wakefield Park, and the track has strict noise limits, this will be a non-championship track day so that those who are unable to participate will not be disadvantaged in the championship.
In November we will have a track day on a Saturday at Winton in Victoria. The MX-5 Club of Vic & Tas have indicated they will join us at this track day and will make it part of their annual championship calendar. I deliberately chose the Saturday, as for those who are close enough that they don't need a whole day to travel to and from the track, it will probably be easier to get away from work early on the Friday to get to the track, than to travel back on Monday and arrive at work late.
No date or venue has been chosen yet for the annual Interstate Challenge for 2016, however my intent is to try and negotiate a date that would allow us to have the event at Phillip Island, as many track day regulars have expressed an interest in visiting this track. Ideally this would be in te first half of 2016.
NSW Supersprint Championship
The MX-5 Club will be running a NSW Supersprint at Wakefield Park in April on a Sunday, with a track day on the Monday following. This will be the first round of the 2016 NSW Supersprint Championship, and will be followed by another 6 rounds up until October.
Driver Training Days
We have 3 days booked at the Marulan Driver Training Centre for Driver Training Days in 2016, and plan to continue to refine the current formula for how those days are organised and run.
Motorkhanas
For 2016 we will be running a MX-5 Club Motorkhana Championship, over 3 rounds at Sydney Motorsport Park skidpan. The motorkhana events will continue to be a place for club members to learn the basics of car control, but those who wish to compete can also participate in the championship. To be eligible for points in the championship, drivers will need to be members of the MX-5 Club of NSW and be driving an MX-5. I would like to have championship classes specificaly for ladies and juniors, although that will be dependent on the level of interest.
