RPM at Eling Forest Estate 27thAugust 2023

Six cars left Settlers Mulgoa on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning bound for the Exeter General Store…well they were supposed to be. Unfortunately, the Exeter General Store is closed for renovations so with a new destination of the Eling Forest Estate we headed off down South through the usual backroads of Silverdale, The Oaks and Thirlmere. After stopping at the Lake Alexandra Reserve in Mittagong for a comfort break, we drove to Robertson on the beautifully lush Kangaloon Road which is in surprisingly good condition compared to a lot of the other fun roads in the area at the moment. Huge chunks of Old South Road and Telegraph Road are actually closed for extensive repairs making plotting a trip in the area all the more challenging. After passing through Robertson, we rolled on out to the Hume Highway for a great lunch at the Eling Forest Estate. This place always delivers a good feed and it’s well worth visiting as a destination or even as a brief stop travelling between Canberra and Sydney. After lunch we all made our own ways back to RPM territory as there are several good options available.
