Day 1

Five cars meet at Penrith and we set off stopping at Picton then on to Mittagong RSL for an excellent lunch. Ron required at stop at Dimmeys at Goulburn so that was the next stop with the weather getting cooler, Shopping done the rain had started so the run to Yass was roofs up, Yass overnight and the skies really opened up for a while. Down to the bowling club for nice tea.

Day 2

The rains had gone but still a bit cool some roofs down and some stayed up, Leisurely drive with a stop at Tarcutta then lunch at Holbrook, there for a while to have a look around then off to Albury via Culcairn. Booked in to Motel and the Table of Knowledge was set up for pre dinner drinks and snacks, Ron set off to the airport to get the final travelling Member (Jacqui) and then there were nine. Walk to Commercial club for huge tea.

Day 3

Breakfast done we went to the information centre to work out the days drive then off we went first to the Hume weir then the Bonegilla migrant centre a very interesting part Australian recent history. We then headed back up towards the lake crossed the coat hanger bridge and proceeded to follow the road around the lake which was a great drive taking us to the Walwa pub for lunch, being Melbourne Cup Day most shops closed in the small towns. Once fed and rested off again going through Corryong and finally stopping at Tallangatta for a well deserved coffee and cake. The roads were pretty quiet and excellent to drive on. From there the short run back to Albury. Due to the long drive takeaways was the order for tea.

Day 4

Chilly start to the day and once the route was worked out we headed south first stop Beechworth home to the famous bakery which took a bit of our money today,  stop at the Historic cemetery , then to town. It wasn’t getting any warmer so some jumpers were purchased . Headed off again going via Myrtleford and stopping at Bright where once again there was a Beechworth Bakery visit. There were some hotrods around town as the annual hotrod show was this weekend. Headed with to Yackandandah which included a nice little piece of MX5 Heaven to drive on coming at just south of Tawonga. Arrive at Yacka for walk around another quaint village. Then the run back to Albury.

Day 5

Breakfast done the the run decided it was off to Glenrowan for Neds last stand, through the quite entertaining show run buy an eccentric and sprightly 80 year old. Off again we were heading for Cowora with a nice drive through Warbys oven national park stopping at Bundalong café for lunch, Follow Lake Mulwala around through Yarrawonga and off to Cowora for look around before heading back to Albury.

Day 6

We decided to just hang round Albury so some went shopping and some went to the pictures and various places for lunch.

Day 7

Homewood bound and everyone had different times to set off or to get home and went our own ways, by the time we turned into our driveway we had done a tad over 2000 kms so thanks to Ron and Brigid for organising the trip and everyone else for the laughs and company.
