The Canberra Chapter is headed for Bathurst to join other Chapters in celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the release of the Mazda MX-5. This event is being arranged by our MX-5 Club Captain and is also a charity event with raffles and other prizes. It promises to be a great event.

There will be opportunities for photos of members and cars and our Club Captain is negotiating hard with the 'powers to be' for access to the track.

Parade Lap

A Parade Lap of Mount Panorama has been organised for Sunday (10 February), marshalling on Pit Straight at 10.30am for a start at 11.00 behind the 1989 NAs. The parade lap will be conducted at or below the 60km/h speed limit.

There will be plenty of opportunities for great photos of cars and owners, and Mel Keller (Club Torque) is organising a crack team of photographers to be stationed at the best vantage points around the circuit. If you would like to join this team, contact Mel at publications@mx5.com.au by 31 January.

Anniversary Lunch

A buffet lunch will commence at 12 noon on Sunday at the Bathurst RSL. The main entrance to the club is from 114 Rankin Street, Bathurst with the rear car park accessed via Gallipoli Lane. Part of the $30 per head lunch fee will be donated to our Club charity CareFlight. FOR SUNDAY LUNCH RSVP and BOOK via "MX-5 30th Anniversary Celebration" event.

The Run

At this stage, our run to Bathurst will begin at The Baker at Sutton on Saturday (9 February) for breakfast at 9am with a 9.30 departure, morning tea at Crookwell (92k’s) and then on to Bathurst (143k’s) with a possible comfort stop at Trunkey Creek’s long-drop amenities if required! Return can be via Oberon and Taralga. Both roads are now all sealed. We will, of course, post further details as they become available.

Unfortunately, if you haven't yet registered, you have left your run too late as we are now fully subscribed.
