This is the Canberra Chapter’s run to join the Brass Monkey Breakfast in Goulburn.

The Brass Monkey is an annual open invitation breakfast event started in 1992 by the Austin Healy Car Club, but now organised by the MX-5 Club of NSW since 2015 as our Charity Fundraising Event. Last year’s run was … interesting. We got most of the way there, but the brekky event was a wash out. Here’s hoping for better weather this year, because we are ready to rumble!

Traditionally, the Brass Monkey run is a chilly pre-dawn run to a hearty and warm brekky in Bathurst, all as a fund-raising activity supporting our Club's charity ‘CareFlight’. But this year, we will all head to Goulburn instead, for brekky at the Soldiers Club.

Our plan is to travel directly to Goulburn down the Federal Boreway - an easy trip of about 1.0 hour all up and 100 km.

We will drive home after the breakfast, returning however you like. If you wish, we have a run planned that will take us from Goulburn out to Grabben Gullen, and then on to Gunning, Gundaroo and home. It’s a trip of about 1.45 hours all up and 145 km.

To book your place at the table:

You MUST register for breakfast. The breakfast costs of $30 pp including a donation to CareFlight.

You MUST register and pay by 30 June.

Breakfast Venue: Goulburn Soldiers Club starting from 8.30am until 9.30am.

Run Grade: This is a ‘cruiser’ run, suitable for most drivers. It features generally sound but narrow and sometimes twisty roads. The Club’s Grading System is described at https://nsw.mx5.com.au/events/important-information/run-gradings.
