The MX-5 Club of NSW will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Mazda MX-5 with a special event in the Hunter Valley at Tatler Wines on Sunday 17 August. All Chapters are invited to make a weekend of it by overnighting in Newcastle.

Please pay your brunch booking HERE.

Saturday

Chapters south of the Hunter will start with a meet up at Pie in the Sky, Cowan at noon for some lunch. Members from the Hunter Chapter will meet us there and then lead us to Newcastle via some nice twisty roads and a beaches tour of Newcastle. Afternoon Tea will be provided courtesy of Hunter Chapter high up in King Edward Park overlooking the ocean and Newcastle.

Arrival at our accommodation will be around 4:30pm.

Dinner will be at around 7pm with the Hunter Chapter members. We have booked for dinner at the famous The Nags Hotel which is only five minutes walk from the motel.

Accommodation

We have secured accommodation at Adamstown Motor Inn (3½ star) on Brunker Rd, Adamstown, just ten minutes from the city of Newcastle. Joan & Terry Helliker are the motel managers and are new members of the MX-5 Club of NSW - they're very keen to host us. A block of 22 rooms have been held for our booking. The rates are:

  • Single $110
  • Double/Twin $130
  • Additional persons $20 each

Please book directly with the motel (02 4952 7111) and quote "MX-5 Club of NSW". Ask for Joan or Terry.

The motel has a 24 hour cancellation policy if you need to withdraw at late notice. Joan & Terry are looking forward to hosting us and also will be joining the run & brunch.

Update 5 August - All 23 rooms at Adamstown Motel are booked out! Alternative accommodation at the same rates is now available at Joan & Terry's sister motel Cardiff Motor Inn which is only 10min drive from Adamstown. Book directly with the motel (02 4954 6738). Or if you would prefer to stay in the Hunter Valley vineyards, please contact Mark Gray for options.

Sunday

We will be met at the motel by a couple of Hunter members who will lead us to the starting point of our morning run. There will be a very large combined run on some twisty roads to the Hunter Valley for the anniversary brunch at Tatler Wines.

Don't forget to book for your Sunday morning brunch at Tatlers.

After the brunch, the Illawarra & RPM Chapters will return via the twisties of Putty Road and the picturesque roads of Wollondilly, while Sydney Chapter may chose to travel via Wollombi and Wisemans Ferry (TBC).
