I have owned this MX-5 NC Series 1 since January 2016 and it has been almost exclusively a weekend toy. It has covered 179,000km, with the last 76,000km under my ownership. This has included many fabulous trips to Tasmania, Victoria and all over NSW. The car is very well known amongst members of the MX-5 Club of NSW as I have been an exceptionally active member for the last 16 years - this is one of five MX-5s I’ve owned. Over $16k has been spent in the last three years restoring it to the current excellent condition:

- Soft-top replaced (Feb 2022)
- New tyres (2022/23)
- New engine (Mar 2023)
- New alloy coolant expansion tank (Mar 2023)
- New battery (Mar 2023)
- New shocks & springs (Oct 2023)

Much of this work was done to fix it up for my son when he got his P-plates and it was his daily drive in 2022-23. An MX-5 is perfect for a P-plater because it is fun to drive but not enough power to get into trouble, carries only one passenger, and it’s a very cool car! However, he bought himself a cheap runabout for his daily commute, and the MX-5 has only done 3000km in the last year. While I’d love to keep it, the recent purchase of a new car means that we need to make room and I’m letting my toy go to some other lucky person. I’m confident you will get many years of joy from this fabulous car.
