What we do
Day Drives are the bread & butter of our Club. Runs are organised with starting points in Sydney, Canberra, Hunter, Illawarra, Blue Mountains, Mid North Coast and South Coast, and are usually on either a Saturday or Sunday. Mid-week runs are also organised for those who are busy on the weekends. It's great to see a group of MX-5s snaking in convoy throughout NSW and ACT on winding MX-5-friendly country roads. The runs end with breakfast, lunch or dinner at the destination of choice, some convivial discussion, and then an independent return home.
Coffee gatherings occur at various venues on weekend mornings every month. They are another great way to meet friends, talk MX-5s and even go for an impromptu run together.
Midweek social nights are held in many locations where members can meet for dinner and get to know each other in the absence of their cars. Whether it be a schnitzel & beer at a club, fish & chips on a beach, or a friendly trivia night, we've got just the thing to keep you entertained.
Weekends Away are organised regularly, particularly on the long weekends. They are a great way to consolidate friendships over dinner and a bottle of wine!
Social Events include the annual President’s Picnic, Convenor's BBQs, Christmas in July and Christmas Parties – and many of these events are subsidised for members.
Motorsport Programs include Club track days, supersprints, regularities, driver training, motorkhana and the MX-5 Cup race series. We cater for all levels from beginner to advanced, and they’re a great way to learn car control. Trophies for the Club Motorsport Championship are awarded at a special presentation night which is subsidised by the Club.
President's Picnic is our annual mega-event, with over 100 MX-5s on display for a Show & Shine and around 200 members enjoying a complimentary morning tea and lunch. Who said there is no such thing as a free lunch?
Committee Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month via Zoom to discuss the Club's direction and progress, and to plan the Club's forthcoming program of events.
Annual General Meetings provide all members with an input into the election of the committee members and opportunity to contribute and to participate in the administration of the club's affairs in an open forum. Members who have achieved the milestones of continuous membership are recognised at the AGM with a Tenure Award badge.
NatMeet is a national meeting of all the Mazda MX-5 Clubs in Australia and is held every two years in a different state. This is a huge event not to be missed!
Club Torque is our full colour glossy magazine updating members on the Club activities during the previous few months as well as providing other articles of interest to MX-5 owners.
Club News is a weekly email newsletter advising of the upcoming events and activities.
Facebook provides our members with a fun way to share their enjoyment of their MX-5s. The Club has an official Facebook Page, while most of the Chapters have their own Facebook Groups (click here for links).
Buy & Sell is a section of classified ads for MX-5s and parts/accessories. Posting of classifieds is available free to all members of the MX-5 Club of NSW. Non-members may also post ads for a small fee.
Historic & Classic Registration is available to members of the club for their Mazda MX-5s that meet the requirements (more info).
Member Discounts are offered on a variety of goods and services by a wide range of vendors in our Business Directory.
Club Website is the heart and soul of our operations. Everything you could want to know about our upcoming events, news reports for recent events, entry forms and results for our Club track days, library of Club Torque magazine, and club regalia can be found right here in this website.
