Canberra Chapter - Annual Meeting
We last held an Annual Meeting on 13 August 2019, as last year's meeting was cancelled due to Covid restrictions.
The meeting presents an opportunity for all members to discuss how the Chapter is going - to offer feedback and suggestions for how we can make the most of our MX-5s and our experience in belonging to the Club.
As you will be aware, our Chapter is managed by volunteers, and the meeting is a chance to collectively say 'thank you' for their work. We currently have volunteers in the following positions:
- Convernor
- Runs Coordinator
- Runs Committee Members
- Website and Social Media Coordinator
- Regalia Coorinator
- Motorsport Coordinator
- Council of ACT Motor Clubs Delegate.
Peter and Annemie commenced as Chapter Convenors on 1 August 2020 and their term expires on 31 July 2021. The Convenor's position, and that of all volunteers, is open for nominations, so if you are interested in taking part in the Chapter's management, please consider nominating.
That said, if no nominations for Convenor are received, Peter and Annemie will continue in the role for another 12 months. And, as Peter has said 'we hope the current volunteers will continue in their roles although we are seeking more volunteers for the Runs Committee'.
If you wish to nominate for any position as a Chapter Volunteer or add items to the agenda, please advise us by Friday 9 July. Peter is happy to talk with anyone about the various roles if you wish to get further information.
Yowani have advised that their bistro will be open for anyone who would like to have lunch before the meeting. Please advise, by Saturday 3 July, if you wish to have lunch at the bistro and we will reserve the appropriate tables for 12.30pm. We would welcome your attendance at the meeting and your feedback on how we are doing in making the most of your MX-5. The Chapter - and the Club - is all for the members, of course, and we'd love to hear any suggestions you may have for improvements or changes. We are all keen to maintain or reputation as a friendly active club dedicated to the enjoyment of owning and driving the magnificent Mazda MX-5.
