Fish and Chips - Burrill Lake
The Sculptures by the Bay have been cancelled for 2025. Not by me.
So, I have substituted a Fish & Chip run to Burrill Lake.
We have been to Burrill Lake a few times now for Fish & Chips. The reasons being that I like their fish & chips, there is a large undercover picnic table & chairs, nearby toilet facilities and we get to go down and then up the Clyde Mountain.
The start point this time is the Troopers Rest café in Braidwood (202 Wallace Street). Make your own way there. 10am for coffee and a 11am departure. Run time to the lake is 1hr and 20 mins.
Why Troopers Rest café – I will tell you when you get there.
Upon departure from the café we will drive down the Kings Highway to Batemans Bay and turn left at the intersection with the Princess Highway.
Travel north up the highway to Burrill Lake and turn right at the very last roundabout just before the bridge over the lake. You will then see the park and picnic area on your left.
You can bring your own lunch and for those wishing to have fish and chips the shop in just on the other side of the bridge. Walk or car pool.
After lunch you can depart for home or go for an easy level walk along the south side of the lake.
Hope you can join us.
