Junee Overnight Run
Set aside Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th of September to visit the Railway Town of Junee.
Springtime will be in full glory as we travel via the township of Binalong, for coffee, and the Wattle Town of Cootamundra to reach our destination.
The Crossing Motel in the heart of Junee is now fully booked. There are very comfortable rooms available at the Junee Motor Inn (www.juneemotorinn.com.au), also very centrally located. Please book on 02 6924 1266, and mention the Canberra MX 5 Club when making your booking.
On Saturday afternoon, we will visit the Junee Railway Roundhouse & Museum for a guided tour of their Heritage listed brick building, which is still running as a commercial enterprise refurbishing locomotives and railway stock. A (very) small fee will be charged.
Dinner will be in the restaurant at the Crossing Motel. The wine list is small, but quite satisfactory! Sunday morning is breakfast/brunch at the famous Junee Licorice & Chocolate Factory, where you can also check out the new Gift Shop upstairs and the Gasworks Garage next door.
The journey home is via Gundagai and, if requested, Jugiong. You should be home by mid‑afternoon.
Please let Bob know when you have made your booking.
