Kinema at Narooma 2027
Been to a picture theatre lately. Well, there is an old picture theatre in Narooma - an art deco delight, that is surely a 'must do' - so join my run to “go to the movies”. Do we know what will be screening? Nope - doesn't matter. This run will be culturally entertaining, and a lot of fun whatever is screening.
Thursday 18 February
Meet at 10am at Troopers Rest Café for a coffee and snack. The café is on the Canberra side of Braidwood. Turn right after crossing Gillamatong creek and park adjacent to the café in McKellar St.
Depart at 11am. It is a 2 hr run to Narooma. Toilet stop at Moruya. Turn left after crossing the Moruya river.
Arrive at Narooma. Book in to the “Top of the Town Motel” (details below).
Lunch and afternoon agenda will be finalised once the February film program is available in January 2027.
The View Hotel has been booked for dinner for 6pm. The hotel and theatre are a 10 min downhill walk from the motel.
Friday 19 February
Breakfast is available at Casey’s Café 120 Wagonga st Narooma. Plenty of room for our group. 10 min walk down the hill.
Friday’s agenda will be confirmed once the February film program is available in January 2027. We may see the movie on Thursday afternoon, or sometime Friday. That is the mystery.
Also on the agenda is a walk along the Military Boardwalk. The timing of event will depend on when we see the movie. There is a 10min drive to the parking area for the start of the walk.
Lunch will be at Quarterdeck – 13 Riverside Dr Narooma. Although it is mainly a seafood restaurant, non seafood meals are available. Time will be set later.
Dinner will be optional. We will be buying takeaway and having it in the BBQ/Pool area of the Motel.
Saturday 20 February.
Optional - breakfast at Casey’s Café before departing for home. Or you can hire tiny and explore the inlet before going home.
Head off home at your leisure.
