Nabiac Motorcycle Museum Mid-Week Run
Running Notes for:
Port Macquarie to Nabiac Motorcycle Museum via Johns River, Coopernook, Taree and Wingham.
Morning Tea Rosie’s Café Johns River, Lunch Nabiac Greenhouse Café. After lunch Nabiac Motorcycle Museum $15 admission (Adult 17 years and over no concessions) closes at 4pm. Last admission 3.30 pm.
Meet at Service Centre Port Macquarie a.k.a The Donut 9.15 am for 9.30 start.
Approximate distances and times. Total run is approximately 154 Ks. When scoping the ride it took us about 2 hours 20 mins to the Greenhouse Café without stopping at Rosie’s Café. Our time included several stops to check the map and a couple of wrong turnings!! Also we were driving relatively slowly scoping out the route.
Stage 1
Port Macquarie Service Centre to Rosie’s Cafe Johns River.
Turn left onto Pacific Highway going southwards and follow signs to Roses Cafe.
Stage 2
Rosie’s Café to Taree via Coopernook.
Travel South from Rosie’s Café to Pacific Highway. Turn Right at George Gibson Drive to Coopernook (first Coopernook turn off).
Follow George Gibson Drive until 2nd Turn off to the right Macquarie St (just before motel).
Follow Macquarie St until 4 turn right into West St.
Follow West St until it goes into Lansdowne Road.
Stage 3
Coopernook to Taree
Follow Lansdowne Road until the roundabout after Taree Regional Airport.
Stage 4
Taree to Wingham
At roundabout after Taree Regional Airport turn right into Manning River Drive.
Follow Manning River Drive past McDonalds and Manning Entertainment Centre to Cowper St Traffic lights (second set of traffic lights on your right VW Car yard on traffic light’s corner.)
Turn right at traffic lights onto Cowper St. Follow Cowper St to the first roundabout and then turn right into Oxley St.
Follow Oxley St until Bushland Drive.
Follow Bushland Drive until it meets up with Wingham Drive at a roundabout.
Turn right into Wingham Rd.
Follow Wingham Rd to Wingham.
Stage 5 Wingham to Nabiac
Follow Wingham Rd through Wingham to Farquhar Rd just past the large park in Wingham. Turn right into Farquhar Rd.
Follow Farquhar Rd until large roundabout and turn left into Moon St.
Turn left into Moon St and follow Moon St to Gloucester Rd (Look out for Canget St on left and make sure you veer right into Gloucester Rd as Moon St veers left). Sign on Gloucester Rd points to Mount George.
Stage 6
Gloucester Rd to Nabiac
Follow Gloucester Rd to Bucketts Way. Turn Right into Bucketts Way.
Follow Bucketts Way to Mills St Krambach.
At Mills St turn left and follow until it turns into Avalon Rd.
Follow Avalon Rd until it Turns into Wallanbah Rd.
Follow Wallanbah to large roundabout which is at Nabiac. At roundabout follow signs on the right to Nabiac itself. (This road goes to the Pacific Highway overpass)
Follow the Pacific Highway overpass until Pacific Highway is crossed and then take next turn to the right into Nabiac on Clarkson St.
The Greenhouse Café is on the right down Clarkson St (just past the Food For Less store on the left). Park anywhere in this street or as close by as possible.
Lunch has been booked for 12.30 pm.
Stage 7 Café to Motorcycle Museum.
After lunch proceed along Clarkson St approx 3 Ks until you see the sign for the Motorcycle Museum.
The ride officially finishes at the Museum Carpark for group photo.
Members then have the option of taking as much time as they wish in the museum until 4pm when it closes.
Journey back to Port took us less than 1 hour 15 minutes and the distance was approximately 120Ks.
