We will cross the Blue Mountains on the GWH from McDonalds Eastern Creek then head onto backroads away from the highways or some of our favourite backroads below Bathurst exiting onto the Mid Western Highway for a short drive to the historic heritage village of Carcoar for light refreshments and meet up with members joining us from Canberra. From Carcoar we head west to Canowindra, Gooloogong, Grenfell and down to Temora keeping off the main highways as much as possible.

Temora Aviation Museum and Photo Opportunity
Our first point of call in Tamora is at Temora Aviation Museum (entry $13/adults/$11 over 65's/$7 under 16's) for a catered lunch ($15/head for lunch) and a tour of this excellent museum (www.aviationmuseum.com.au) & their unique collection of rare aircraft from WW2, Korean & Vietnam conflicts.
Following the tour, the Museum have graciously offered to move at least one of their operational Spitfire fighters outside just for the MX-5 Club. They will escort ten (10) lucky cars/crew one at a time onto the tarmac to get an individual photo in front of the Spitfire ($50 per car donation to the Museum - strictly limited to (10) cars - first in, best dressed). Those cars nominated to be indivdually photographed are noted in the list below. The remainder of the group will follow later for a once in a lifetime group photo opportunity with ours cars/crews & the Spitfire.
There are only two flying Spitfire's in Australia, and both reside at Temora Aviation Museum
V8 Superboats
After the photo op with the Spitfire we head into town for check-in at our accommodation for a quick freshen up, before heading out to the Temora Jet Sprint Track. At the track you will see, smell & hear one of fastest, most exciting forms of Motorsport in Australia; 1000+ horsepower, methanol breathing V8 Superboats racing the clock under lights. These boats are capable of accelerating from a standing start to 130km/h in just 1.6 seconds & are about the most fun you can have in half a metre of muddy water !! (www.afjsa.com).
There are various BBQ style dinner options at the track, and it's BYO alcohol (no glass allowed). Spectating is from a grassy hill & there's no seating so don't forget to bring a picnic rug, low folding chair or one of the new MX-5 Club Stadium Seats. Entry is just $15/adult (which is a MX-5 Club Group Discounted price; it's usually $25/adult).
Sunday Breakfast
Sunday breakfast is at Patchwork Inn B&B (http://www.patchworkinntemora.com.au/) is included in your room tariff if you stay at Patchwork Inn B&B, or $10/head if you stay elsewhere. Teresa from Patchwork will ensure you don't need lunch with a fully cooked or continental breakfast. (www.greengroveorganics.com.au)
Sunday Run
After breakfast everyone can decide on their own route home or join up with members visiting the Junee Liquorice & Chocolate Factory for a quick tour. They have a great gift shop to stock up on all your sweet treats.
In addition or in the alternative a visit to the Binalong Motor Museum. If you have an interest in touring the private museum then we need to know when you confirm your accommodation so we can see if we have the numbers to get access as a car club booking.
There will be one run that stays north of the Hume Highway on backroads for as long as possible as far as Breadalbane or possibly Goulburn depending on what time we get away from Temora.
