A Hunter Chapter Christmas Tale

A Hunter Chapter Xmas Tale
’Twas two weeks before Christmas, on a hot summer’s day,
Hunter Chapter stood ready to send off the year our way.
Thirteen cars and nineteen souls faced the rain at the start,
Unaware that the clouds soon would drift right apart.
Onward to Wangi Workers for lunch and good cheer,
To catch up with old friends and some newly held dear.
A feast then appeared of roast pork and vegies so fine,
As the air-con gave up and the heat chose to climb.
Many drinks were consumed, conversation ran free,
Of cars and great roads and holidays to be.
Laughter echoed through stories of journeys and time,
As the afternoon warmed and spirits did climb.
With lunch at an end, it was awards time at last,
Wendy stood ready with a box unsurpassed.
Thanks were shared with all those who helped make the year glow,
A chapter well run, a success we all know.
Then silence fell gently as Wendy announced,
This year’s MOTY winners—Ray and Marlene—renowned.
A well-earned achievement, the room did agree,
“Outstanding job!” rang out, loud and free.
The new MOTY members were nowhere in sight,
So for now we stay quiet—no fuss, no spotlight.
All good events end, as this one must too,
With best wishes exchanged among friends old and new.
Out the door we all wandered, with plans yet to be,
To do it again next year—Hunter Chapter, you see.
Congratulations to
- Ray and Marlene Cosier for Hunter Chapter MOTY members of the year.
- To be announced New MOTY members of the Year
- To Wendy our new Chapter Convener.
- To our Entertainment crew Felicity Harnden, Denise Birrell
- To Wendy Mulholland for the Photos and helping with the venue..
