April Fool's Day Run
02 April 2017 / Words & Photos by Wayne Lang
The group met at the "Port Service Centre" at 9:30am for the designated departure time of 9:45am.
Peter and Keiran Rodgers, Greg Cox, Peter and Jill McDonnell and new prospective member, Lisa traveled up the Pacific Highway to meet Cath and myself at the top of the off ramp going into Kempsey.
We then drove the short journey to "Netherby River Cafe" on the beautiful Macleay River, where we were joined by Sandie Hammond and Chris Clark from Coffs Harbour, for a light morning tea and a chat..
When it was time to continue on, I took my wife Cath back home as she had a work shift. I then drove back out to Crescent Head Rd., where everyone was waiting, and we then set off for Cresso.
After a brief photo op at the Crescent Head surf beach, it was off again back to Loftus Rd., which would eventually bring us out at Gladstone.
Then a ridiculously slow drive at 80kph virtually the rest of the journey to South West Rocks, where we stopped to have lunch at "The Seabreeze Hotel".
Lunch was a very nice affair over a beer or a wine, while talking between ourselves until it was time to set off back to our respective homes.
Thanks must go to Greg Cox for arranging a lovely day out with some great people.
Until next time.
