Boorowa Pub Lunch Run

This is a popular run that has been well attended in the past.  No exception this year with eighteen members in thirteen cars at the departure point; Daughters at Hall Café.  The weather had been unusually warm up until the morning of this run and although not cold, it was overcast with a light misty rain that had us seeking shelter just after we had finished our coffees at the outside table.

The weather discouraged roof down motoring although there are always exceptions to the rule.  The traffic was light and that made it a very enjoyable drive to Boorowa via Rye Park. The road was generally in good condition with the added bonus of a few twisties to add a bit more interest to the drive.  We lost a couple of cars in Rye Park, however realising their error (not reading the detailed directions) soon made a correction and arrived in Boorowa a little later than the rest of the group.

With excellent service and meals at the Courthouse Hotel, all seemed very contented.  The quick service enabled all to disperse rather early and start the drive home.  A heavy shower of rain along Lachlan Valley Way was all too brief to assist the dry condition of local farms.

Five of us stopped at the Two for Ten Café in Murrumbateman for a final caffeine hit.  A short run of only 220kms, however, enough to satisfy the urge to be out driving on some quiet country roads.
