Braidwood Mid-week Run

Wednesday January 29 – Midweek Braidwood Lunch Run
Isn’t it always the way that the spontaneous things we do often turn out to be some of the best. But this was one of the good ones. As a gesture of support for our villages of Bungendore and Braidwood, whose businesses suffered significantly due to the closure of the Kings Highway and hence no passing traffic, we organised a midweek run to Braidwood for lunch.
Of course, we never go anywhere without morning tea and our first meeting place was The Green Cup in Bungendore where the lovely Sarah provided coffees, hot chocolates, iced coffees and lots of yummy eats to 17 members who braved the forecasted high temperatures! As always, it’s hard to shift our members once we start eating, drinking and talking … three of our favourite pastimes. After morning tea and some shopping around Bungendore we all headed off to Braidwood. Being a way-point run we said ta-ta and did our own thing for the next couple of hours knowing that we would all meet up again at the Albion Café for lunch. Apparently Car Models of Braidwood did a brisk trade!
Lunch at the Albion did take a while as they were extremely busy—the Alfa Club dared to book lunch at the same place on the same day! Having said that, all 17 of us got our meal within a few minutes of each other and they were lovely. Around 2.30 most people were ready to head home, so we said our goodbyes. Except of course that lot that just can never leave, so coffee at The Concept Café followed, with more conversation, then home.
Our thanks to everyone who joined us on this run.
