On Thursday, 11 June 2026 a small but eager bunch of people met at Figtree McDonald’s.
The weather was good and we were able to have our tops down in our MX5’s. We made our way to
Mount Keira Road driving uphill and down dales. Everywhere was lush and green due to all the recent
rain. A short drive on the motorway then onto Douglas Park Drive crossing over the Nepean River
causeway and through the gorge situated between the Nepean River Causeway and Blades Bridge.
Luckily nobody got wet. The drips from the overhang were minimal that day!! Meandering through
Douglas Park we then took some back roads winding our way to old Razorback Road.
From there it was a lazy drive into Camden town Centre. Parking was easily available close to the
museum.
Camden museum has recently had a refurbishment. It is a small museum but packed to the rafters
with antiquities and curiosities from days gone by. Everything is pleasingly grouped into various areas.
They had many artefacts of objects from around the house, including old laundry items and irons.
There were also many relics in the historical section. With lots of information of Camden’s history.
Museum entry is free however a gold coin donation is appreciated by the friendly staff.
From there we made a short drive to the Camden Valley Inn. The weather was so glorious we were
able to sit outside for lunch. The food was great. The best part being that it was two for the price of
one if you are a senior!!
