CANBERRA CHAPTER IS  30!

18th July 2026

The Canberra Chapter of the Club met at the new premises of the Yowani Country Club to celebrate the Chapter’s 30th anniversary. Fifty-two members of the Canberra chapter came along. Among the gathering were some of the chapter’s longest-serving members, Paul and Margert Beerworth, Jane Broughton and John Brown.

The members enjoyed a three-course meal that was excellent. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxed and pleasant. There was a large commemorative cake that was delicious. Whilst it was rather large there was nothing left at the end of the day.

The Club President, Ian Combes made the trip down from Sydney specifically for the occasion. For many of the Canberra members, this was the first time they had ever met him in person. He took the time to move around the room, chatting individually with members. Later, he addressed the entire room.

Before the day wrapped up, every member was presented with a special 30th anniversary club badge.
