Canberra Chapter Draft Events Calendar 2027
14 October 2026 / Mike Lawless
Your Runs Committee have put their heads together and drafted an events program for 2027.
This will give you a good idea of what we have in mind. It’s not ‘final’ and there is plenty time to make changes, so if you have an idea for a run, or would like to lead one, please get in touch with me (at mikejoannemx5@gmail.com) and we can work it in.
We have tried to create an events calendar to cater for all members, regardless of their experience with their MX-5 or the Club. To the extent possible the program includes:
• social events and runs
• mid-week and weekend runs
• day runs and multi-day/overnight runs
• shorter, picnic-style runs (particularly during the warmer months) and longer day runs
• relaxed and challenging runs
• two events (or more) each month, in addition to the regular Coffee & Lies catch-up.
We've continued with the 'mystery run' each month. They have been well received, as a nice drive (up to 300km return) to a local Pub, Club or Cafe for lunch. We’ve also planned a few local runs for ‘something to do’, which are likely to end up with coffee or lunch somewhere—nothing fancy or adventurous, just a mid-week outing.
All events will be posted on the website as soon as possible. You should refer back to the individual event notice on the website from time to time for details and up-to-date information.
Obviously, the program is subject to change (for a whole lot of reasons).
You can download the draft Canberra Chapter 2027 Events Program here.
We would like to engage a few more members to lead runs. Our experienced run leaders are happy to mentor any member who would like to give it a try. If you'd like to give it a go, contact our Convenors, Stuart & Michelle Ducat, or me.
We would also be happy to take suggestions for suitable events and runs. Again, contact Stuart or me.
