Chasing the Brass Monkey 2017
03 July 2017 / Words by Michael Soulos, Video by Rob Charlwood
A total of 115 members and guest chased the Brass Monkey to Mudgee this year lead by a member of the NSW Highway Patrol driving to the conditions from Lithgow to ensure that there was no interference or harassment by Macquarie Bank Bounty Hunters or his fellow officers. An exceptionally good day for a Brass Monkey Run with sub zero temperatures through bsanks of mist and light fog from the lower Blue Mountains to Club Mudgee for the participants suitably dressed with the roof down under a cloudless sky. Dawn broke as we drove through Katoomba, the sun rose just past Cullen Bullen and the frost covered the ground from Hartley to Lake Windermere presenting a wonderful silvery winter picture for all those who took part.
