Driver’s Run 2

14-15 October, 2025

South Coast’s final drivers run for the year was a resounding success.

Commiserations to Phil who had to pull at at the last minute due to a health issue, we missed you.

Keith and Paul met up in North Nowra and joined up with Barry and myself at the Heritage Bakery Milton for a coffee before making our way down the Princes Hwy to Cobargo for lunch.

We got to Cobargo a bit late but the bakery still had a few offerings.

The weather stayed perfect as we left Cobargo for the run down the highway to Pambula where we all refueled, (petrol not coffee), before the run up Mount Darragh to our night’s accommodation in Nimmitabel. Mount Darragh is an amazing drive for an MX5 so with sufficient curves navigated we arrived at the Royal Arms Bed and Breakfast in Nimmitabel where our hosts Diane and Grant Walker had everything ready for us, even the sitting room fire was laid ready for a wine or two by the fire.

After a restful night Diane and Grant treated us to a cooked breakfast before we said our goodbyes and warmed up the MX5’s.

The perfect weather continued as we left Nimmitabel for Cooma on the Monaro highway. The crisp, clear morning amplified the spectacular views of the Monaro High Plains and the roads were pleasantly devoid of traffic.

We bypassed Queenbeyan via Royalla then on to Bungendore before stopping for lunch in Braidwood.

After lunch we headed down the Clyde Mountain to Batemans Bay before heading back up the coast and home.

This was a top run and the consensus is that we will make it an annual event but possibly in reverse for a bit of diversity.
