Eling Forest Winery

On Thursday, 15 August five cars met at Hungry Jack’s Haywards Bay at 10 o’clock.
It was a cool overcast day, but no rain. So we could definitely go tops down!!
With Peter and Leslie leading us, five shiny MX-5s drove up the Jamberoo mountain pass. Macquarie pass was closed for repairs but that proved to be a bonus as we were able to see the picturesque scenery of the Jamberoo mountain Road. Peter and Leslie are locals. We went on some lovely, different ( for me) roads.
Everywhere we had scenic views. Everything was very green due to all the recent rain we have had. It reminded me of English countryside! The weather held up and it was great to experience the wind and air again with our top down! Our first drive in our “new”MX-5.
We eventually arrived at Eling Forest winery. We have driven past this place so many times and wondered what it was like. Now we know!!!
It was a very pretty place in a lovely setting with original stone buildings. We met up with Francesca, who arrived early.
Delicious home-made lunches, varying from quiches to loaded burgers were enjoyed by everyone before heading home our own way.
After losing our last NC to floods in April, it was so wonderful to feel the wind in our hair and enjoy a drive in its "twin", hopefully this one will be enjoyed for a much longer time!
(Note: John and Chrissie's last black NC was written off 4 weeks after purchase in the 6th April 2024 floods, so great to see them enjoying their new one. This was its maiden Club run.)
