Exploring The Lakes Way

Ten members and seven MX5s set off for the Lakes Way on Saturday 14 June. We welcomed new members Bill and Tracey-Ann and Solomon. We headed south along the Pacific Highway to Hannan Vale where we enjoyed cake and coffee at Moorland Cafe. Unfortunately one of the cars had problems with the immobiliser and had to contact the NRMA for assistance and another member had to return to Port Macquarie.

We returned to the Highway and drove via Wootton Way which has some great corners and traverses beautiful forest. Once we met the Highway again we joined The Lakes Way that take us over the forest range (with lots of good corners) to Smiths Lake where we enjoyed lunch at the Frothy Coffee Boatshed. It's a great location overlooking Smiths Lake. After lunch we all made our way home along The Lakes Way through Forster and Tuncurry, rejoining the Highway to take us back to Port Macquarie.
