The first official Hunter Dodgy Day of 2016 courtesy of Phil and Helen Mayo kicked off on Sunday 31st January, with the focus on cleaning 16 of our precious MX-5’s before Natmeet!

Phil and Helen Mayo catered to all the intrinsic demands of the day, 3 driveways were available each with a designated set of tasks at hand.

The day started off at 10am, with plenty of eager Hunter Chapter members arriving to start the detailing duties. Josh, Lindsay, Helen and I became the car wash crew. With a bit of teamwork and enthusiasm, Team Hunter managed to wash 4 cars in no time!

In the detailing garage, Team Hunter had access to a plethora of tools, ramps, jacks, stands, hoses, vacuum and blower!

Peter Hilkmann’s NB, Annette Wilde’s NA and Rachel Crawford’s NC all received special treatment. Peter's NB was thoroughly prepared and detailed for concourse, cleaned to a showroom shine making use of the ramps available on the day to make sure no spot was left uncleaned.
Rachel Crawford prepared her NC for Natmeet with a thorough wheel detail, each wheel was removed from the car and thoroughly cleaned to concourse quality.
Annette’s Malibu Gold NA was the center of attention on the day, receiving a full interior/exterior detail, vinyl soft-top restoration and engine bay detail courtesy of advice from Phil.

With so many gleaming MX-5s on display, heads were turning as the public drove down the street. The highlight’s of the day was passerby Gordon pulling over in his red NA to see what was going on and asking about the club and everyone joining in on painting their soft-top latches back to factory condition.

Finally the day ended with pizza. A treat for all the hard work carried out earlier in the day.
