Hunter's 2022 Xmas Lunch

The Christmas meet started out with a Scavenger Hunt organised by Elaine and David Gazzard. We met at 10:00 pm for a 10:30 pm start at Speers Point Swimming Pool carpark. We had ten cars for a very nice day scooting around the Teralba, Boolaroo & Speers Point areas for about one & a half hours to find 20 items. Who would have thought being so close to the water that the most challenging part was finding a Pelican and not necessarily a live one!. Three couples tied on points so a Trivia playoff was needed between Malcolm Lewis, Graham and Gail, Ray & Marlene (those winning chocolates were delicious … !)
After that we set off on the short run to Nick and Felicity's home, where we were met by our Parking Valet, Phil Ellerton, who steered us into the right spots. We were then welcomed to their home by our hosts Nick and Felicity into a great Chrissy setup created with help from Jenny Charge, John & Chris, Elaine & David, Phil & Mara and Les & Kathy. It looked Fantastic !
The 44 members attending enjoyed a very nice catered lunch, swapping our seating spots around after the main course to allow everyone more opportunities to mingle. Everyone enjoyed the conversation and a beverage or two and then it was onto a fine selection of desserts laid on by Felicity accompanied by coffee & tea. By this time belts needed to be adjusted!
We then enjoyed a Trivia contest MC’d by Nick which was great fun and was won by David Gazzard’s table. We also swapped our Secret Santa gifts which varied widely from Coal, Wind Chimes, Chocolates and a wide variety of treats - even a pair of custom MX5 “Zoom Zoom” underpants, good score George!
Well that's a wrap for 2022 with just the Beatty pub run to finish out a Great Year!
Merry Christmas and have a Safe and Happy New Year to all our Hunter Chapter members. See you in 2023.
