Joadja Christmas Run

On 30th November, 13 little MX-5s from the Illawarra Chapter filled with Christmas cheer, left Haywards Bay on a beautiful day, keen to test out their tyres (AGAIN!) on the Jamberoo Mountain Road. Our destination would be a Christmas Gathering at Joadja Winery just near Berrima, to meet with members from the other five chapters of the MX-5 Club of NSW. Everyone was eager to arrive at the winery as our car boots were overflowing with Christmas decorations to spruce up our already good looking cars.

We arrived and were very thankful that the paddock where we were parking had been slashed, so we weren't walking in knee high hay. After decorating, and looking skywards for the storm forecast later on, we headed to our beautiful seating area, where we partook of some nibbles and wine.

The aroma of pizzas cooking ensured the line of hungry members waiting for their lunch was always long. After enjoying our delicious lunch, presentations were made by Bryan for "Member of the Year", and also members who went above and beyond the call of duty ensuring our club was well run and organised. The Member of the Year was Gary Nobrega (Sydney Chapter), and Chris Rhodes (Hunter Chapter) was runner-up New Member of the Year. The winner of NMOTY and runner-up MOTY were not announced because the recipients were not present - so it's still a secret for now!

Just as Bryan started, the droplets began falling, and soon the formalities were being rushed through, before the heavens well and truly opened. We all just made it inside, before the downpour started.

Dessert was a site to behold, and many thanks to the ladies for organising, cutting and presenting our beautiful dessert in such an attractive manner.

It was great for all six chapters of the club to get together for our Christmas celebration, and end the year relaxing at such a wonderful venue.
