May Mystery Run

The destination this month was the Bluebird Café in Goulburn.
An unusually warm morning for this time of year and it was very comfortable sitting in the sun sipping coffee at Daughters. We had eight members in six cars for the drive to Gunning and our first stop. Not much traffic and probably that’s the attraction of a Tuesday drive. After the mandatory comfort stop at Gunning we headed along the “old” Hume Hwy in the direction of Breadalbane. The scenery along this route adds to the enjoyment of the run. Unfortunately we hit patches of misty rain as the clouds darkened. Our route via Mullen’s Creek and Gurrundah Roads added more rain. Although the roads were in very good condition and the rain didn’t dampen our enjoyment of the run. The rain stayed with us all the way to Goulburn.
Thankfully, as I didn’t bring wet weather gear, parking was just outside our lunch venue, The Bluebird Café. A very satisfying meal and we noted it is a venue worth another visit. After a long lunch discussing many topics, like recent overseas trips, it was time to head for home. With the time spent over lunch, the rain had ceased and we seemed to disperse in different directions for the route home. I opted for the most direct route along the Federal Hwy.
It was another good day to be out driving the MX5. I arrived home at 2.30pm with 230kms on the trip meter. Thanks to all on the run today.
