Mazdas in the Mist November 2020

15 November 2020 / Words Bill Short

Whoo Hooo!  …..notice had been posted that Illawarra’s Mazda’s in the Mist Run was back on!!!!

We registered and duly received electronic confirmation that we were part of the run. Anticipation because….

Come Saturday morning
I'm goin' away with my friend(s)

We turned up at the designated meeting point and at the designated time, set off for Burrawang General Store because we could not go to Moonacres Café, Robertson due to various non-Club restrictions.

Well Saturday-spend 'til the end of the day-ay
Just I and my friend(s)

Quite a few people were meeting at the General Store and only five cars set off to travel to Burrawang via Macquarie Pass. Wally’s Merc was front car, followed by three MX-5’s and an Abarth 124. An interesting mix of rainbow colours and four generations of MX-‘s represented in each of the cars.

We'll travel for miles in our Saturday smiles

After a quiet uneventful drive in “Goldilocks” (ok, so I was driving a yellow NC) weather and conditions to Burrawang General Store where we were split into two groups via the venue to comply with the current rules.  The company, coffee and food were excellent.

And then we'll move on

And we all made our separate ways home with some going back down the Pass and others taking a longer drive through Kangaroo Valley.

But we will remember
Long after Saturday's gone

The words are from the song "Come Saturday Morning" by the Sandpipers which was written by Fred Karlin (music) and Dory Previn (lyrics) for the 1969 movie, "The Sterile Cuckoo" starring Liza Minnelli: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nIdGutgymY
