MX-5 Club Motorsport Weekly Roundup - 5th July 2023

 

With no completed events since the last roundup I have dived into the vault for this weeks featured picture. It shows Lesa Bunn (#59) driving in her first and only MX-5 Cup race event on 24th August 2014 after she won the MX-5 Cup event entry in a club raffle. She is being closely followed by the hard charging Matilda Mravicic (#95). I have never seen anyone so nervous before an event as Lesa was on race day, but she gave it a go and did alright. Well done Lesa!

Upcoming Events

Victorian 6 Hour Regularity at Philip Island on Sat & Sun 29th 30th July

Entries close Thursday 6th July, ie TOMORROW, for the Victorian 6 Hour Relay at Phillip Island on 29th and 30th July 2023. If you have ever wanted to do this event but never got around to it then I strongly recommend you act now. Information from a very reliable source says that this MAY be the last running of the event. If you can't form a team but want to run at this years event please contact Stewart Temesvary ASAP at regularity_relay@mx5.com.au

 

MX-5 Cup Round 2 at SMSP GP Circuit – Saturday 15th July

The next round of the MX-5 Cup championship will be at SMSP on the GP Circuit as part of the Sydney 300 meeting. Entries are currently open and closing in 5 days on 10th July. Entries for the event are submitted via the MRA website here https://motorrace.com.au/event/2023-round-2

 

Club Track Day at SMSP South/Amaroo Circuit - Sunday 16th July

The next club track day is at SMSP South/Amaroo Circuit and will be the last event at that track this year. Entries are open and rolling in, and will close next Tuesday, so if you want a run on the South/Amaroo Circuit, get an entry in soon.

We also need helpers on the day, particularly as flag marshals, so if you or someone you know can help, please contact me at competition@mx5.com.au

 

NSW Supersprint at SMSP Noeth/Druitt Circuit - Sunday 27th August

The next round of the NSW Supersprint Championship will be run by NSWRRC on Sunday 27th August using the SMSP North/Druitt Circuit.
