It’s the Canola blooming season and the run this month headed for Young and lunch at The Services Club.
We are now in Spring and it was a pleasant morning sipping coffee at Hall before our scheduled departure at 10:30am. In attendance were four cars and six members. I suppose more members would attend if I had advertised it as a “Canola Run”. However, this is a Mystery Run and as my Granddaughters often say, “…you get what you get and you don’t get upset…” That’s the idea of a mystery run! The drive to Young was in the best weather one could expect, sunshine in a blue sky with no wind and moderate temperature of 18 degrees. The Canola around Galong, Harden and Wombat looked very good and there were patches that would look even better over the next few weeks.
After the usual stops for photo opportunities we made our way to The Services Club in Young. A good meal was had by all and the Club was noticeably quieter than last Sunday; Father’s Day! I must remember not to do a recce on that day.
Over lunch it was decided to skip an afternoon coffee and head directly home. It was an excellent day to be out driving the MX5 with very light traffic all day. I arrived home at 3.30pm with 290kms being the return trip to Hall. Thanks to all on the run today.
