The destination this month was Jackson’s Bakery in Harden.

Winter is here and it dropped to minus one degree this morning. However, once the sun was shining the temperature improved and, for Canberra, it was a balmy ten degrees as we departed Daughters at Hall. There were ten members in six cars; all varying shades of red!

The sky was overcast and we eventually hit rain around Murrumbateman and the Hume Hwy; quite heavy at times. We could see a small section of blue sky to the west and by the time we reached Binalong it turned into blue sky. After that comfort stop we navigated our way through some back roads to Harden. Not much traffic on those back roads, I could count oncoming traffic on one hand!

All enjoyed the meals at Jackson’s Bakery and most made it to the Marsden Street Café in Boorowa for an afternoon coffee. The highlight of the day was the cows and calves on Barwang Road and sheep on Cunningar Road. Both groups provided some amusement whilst we were stopped to allow their movement.

It was great to be out driving the MX5 in good weather; for most of the day. I arrived home at 3.30pm with a total of 285kms for the return trip to Hall. Thanks to all on the run today.
