Mystery Twilight Run
31 October, 2025
The day prior to our Mystery Twilight run, a sleepy Rose turned the radio on at 6:00am. Not long after there was an interview discussing the Husky Marathon, which involved an influx of 600 runners, road closures, etc. It didn't take long for Rose to be fully alert…these invaders were going to be running on many of the roads we were driving on our Mystery run. An immediate Google search ensued and, luckily, all roads we were planning to use on the night of our run were open… not being closed until the following morning.
Crisis averted, South Coast's first twilight run for the spring season went ahead with no hiccups. The mystery run took us winding along the roads around Tomerong, Woollamia and Huskisson. Although most of the participants were semi local or locals, many had never driven on the back roads we followed.
The Stonegrill dinner destination in Huskisson was supposed to be a mystery until the end of the run; however, Geoff caved and told everyone before the run set off. Most of us opted for cooking meals on hot stones at the table which was a new experience for some of us; while others decided to have their dinner served ready to eat. For those with space left, the main was followed by a huge dessert. Rose & Geoff, who live locally, have decided to go back just for dessert. The meals were well priced and very yummy… plus a great experience. You can’t get three courses for $50 in many places.
Thanks Geoff for organising this run
