Not-quite-Easter Fish 'n' Chips

My first run leading the convoy started off at Mick Sherd Oval, and I managed to arrive early to assert dominance over the empty car park to ensure the group could park together. All club members had arrived well and truly on time which enabled us to embark punctually at 10.15am.

We had a great run through to Braidwood, and were only slightly separated getting to the Clyde - a small ancient Camry had decided that it was rapid on the straights, but could not compete with the group through the bends of the Clyde. A few of us at the front put our tops up due to a heavyish bit of rain coming down the Clyde, but that didn’t stop Simon from leaving his down (he tells me you just need to drive quicker).

As we passed the Nelligen turn-off we picked up Mr Schiemer (in the best colour the MX-5 is currently produced in - Deep Crystal Blue Mica - and, no I’m not biased).

We plodded along for the half an hour drive to Burrill Lake to be greeted by a few South Coasties, who had very welcomely set-up some tablecloths for a very civil fish and chips lunch.

As usual we made the trek across the bridge and enjoyed some fish and chips!

The group bid farewell to Burrill Lake and the group of South Coast members, and headed back to Canberra!

[This was Rhys's first turn as run organiser and leader, and from all accounts he acquitted himself most admirably. I can see a future in this for him! - Rod N, Convenor]
