So Sweet at Sabor's
29 January 2025 / Story & Photos by David Gazzard
The day came for our yearly Twilight run to Port Stephens to check out the beaches and have dinner at Salt at Fingal bay but the weather beat us.A huge storm settled in the day before and the Port Stephens are was decimated with no power, trees down and much wind and rain damage.
So we had to cancel and had no other run in January.
Ray and Marlene pit up a last minute run to Sabor's at Pokolbin, A desert bar that is everyone's favourite.
Starting at Mt Sugarloaf lookout our run took us west on George Booth drive, Richmond vale road with its many twists and turns.
Through the suburbs of Kearsley, Nulkaba, on to Cessnock and then Sabors at Pokolbin.
The menu is extravagant and the glass windowed selection is a picture of sugar made into artwork that's tastes good too.
A favourite is the flaming browny that is served and lit in front of t of you.
Thanks to Ray and Marlene and all who braved their tastebuds on the day!
